SCAPSA Score Sheet Demo This web page is a working score sheet. USPSA shooting is about speed and accuracy. The score sheet used reflects both of these attributes by combining time and score into and end result called a hit factor. The higher the hit factor for a given course the better. Score Sheet The score sheet is used to record the results of shooting a course. Power Factor There are two different power factors in USPSA, Major and Minor. The power factor is determined by the weight of the bullet and the speed of the bullet. Minor scores a little less when hits are not A hits. Minor is used for lower power handguns such as 9mm. Scoring a target Hits are scored for the zone they are in on the target. The target has 5 zones (A,B,C,D). An A zone hit is worth more points than a D zone hit. If the target was missed then a (M) is recorded. Each miss is counted at -10 points. A score sheet also tracks a DM which stands for a disappearing miss. If a moving targets final position is hidden then a miss is not penalized but it is still recorded Penalties Most penalties are 10 points and are subtracted from the total points. Time(s) Times is the amount of time that it took to shoot the course of fire. Some courses consist of more than one shooting time. If there were more than one string, then they are added together. Hit Factor The hit factor is a computed number that represents the overall score of a course. The Hit Factor = ( total points - penalties)/ total time
